Overview of the Company

Registered in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, in 2006, Africa Biofuel and Emission Reduction Company [Tanzania] Ltd. is managed by a team dedicated to bringing a triple-bottom-line biofuel business model to Africa.

The Company's philosophy supports the understanding that it is never in the interest of a local population to grow a food crop for use as a fuel. This observation is reflected by the steady significant increase in the price of corn because due to the use of corn as a feedstock for ethanol production across the United States and other ethanol producing countries.  The effect of this economic phenomenon adversely impacts the buying power of the poor with a downstream effect on the health and nutrition of the resident population. With this knowledge, the ABF global team set out to identify a productive, environment-enhancing non-edible oil-bearing crop as a source of sustainable biofuel. Our management team identified Croton megalocarpus, a tree, indigenous to East Africa as the focus for developing a commercially scalable, profitable renewable energy company.

The Company's multi-national management team includes Tanzanian and non-Tanzanian professionals with decades of accumulated experience in: Agriculture, Forrestry, Environmental Management, Energy, Project Managment and New Business Start-up.
